Malaga is an exuberant and port city in Spain. At the same time, it is the birthplace of one of the greatest artists Pablo Picasso.

It is also a city with two faces. When the night falls, Malaga turns to have a different outlook. The nightlife here is thriving and terrific ranging from traditional gypsy flamenco performances to modern nightclubs. If you prefer something aloud and lots of people, visit bars and go to disco to move your body and release your energy; by contrast, if you would like to stay in a comfortable and quiet environment to chat with your friends and new acquaintances, here are the hospitable back street tapas bars waiting for you.

When come to Malaga of Spain, food is something you should never miss. There are countless fancy restaurants you can try, but of course the price is going to be impressive. So why not join the local people to head to the taverns to find some food which is quite Spanish and much less expensive.

Here’s some great places to try:

  • Rincón de Mata, No. 8 Esparteros – tucked away in a corner, tapas here are incredibly cheap. They include habas con jamon (broad beans with ham), gambas al pil-pil (spicy fresh prawns) and caracoles (snails).
  • Urbano – It’s a few minutes away from the bigger streets, but it’s it definitely worth it as they have more than 100 different shots, ranging from very complicated mixed shots with whipped cream to a simple shot of Tequila. If you go here, try the Bombastic.
  • Mooncity – Reding, 6  Live flamenco shows are its top draw. Mooncity has a relaxed and friendly ambiance in which to enjoy these live shows.
